On Monday myself and my fellow beekeepers met up to look at our new equipment and discuss where the bees are going to live. As mentioned in my first blog post we are initially starting small. We are having one hive on the roof of Manchester Art Gallery. Here are some pictures of their new home and their view across the Manchester skyline.
I feel a bit sorry for them as I couldn’t see any green in any direction. I’m sure they’ll find some good pollen sources fairly quickly though!
If you have a city centre balcony or terrace please plant some bee friendly flowers to help them. Sunflowers would be ideal – thank you J
